The Online Intergroup of Alcoholics Anonymous, or OIAA, is an International service organization established in accordance with the Ninth Tradition of Alcoholics Anonymous A.A., specifically for the purpose of assisting online A.A. groups in their common purpose of carrying the A.A. message to the alcoholic who still suffers.

The fundamental principles and traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) apply for all member communications using electronic media, such as the Internet, phone, websites, email, etc. This Online Advisory Statement is intended to clarify some special situations that arise for electronic-based AA meetings and communications.

In 1994, the online members of the Fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous began to look forward to participating in the International Convention in San Diego, held in June 1995.

Membership is not required to list your online A.A. group in the Meeting Directory or to participate on any of our many Service Committees. Individuals may also become members of OIAA.
