Event Description

The Get into Action (GIA) Committee will be hosting a Sharing Session via Zoom on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 2pm ET, 1pm CT, 2pm MT, 11am PT. ASL / Spanish Interpretation Available. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The format is open sharing by online A.A. group members. We are using a 2-minute time limit per speaker. We urge you to write down your remarks to be sure you get to share all your thoughts. You can speak more than once by getting back in line to share.

All Conference members will discuss this specific topic at the 2025 General Service Conference. (2024 Final Conference Report, page 36.)

Because we know that there is limited ability for online groups to insert their voice into the conscience of all Conference members, we want to offer all online groups the opportunity to give their thoughts and ideas on closing the communication gap. This session will be for the purpose of listening to the voices of online groups, collect the information online groups want the Conference to know, and send it to them.

To help you think about the information you want to share, we have developed the following questions. Please know these questions are not designed to limit your discussion. We submit them to you to get your thoughts started on connecting your group to all of A.A.

Questions to Consider on Closing the Communication Gap:

1. How can your group be helpful to other groups?
2. How can other groups be helpful to your group?
3. How is your group connected to Alcoholics Anonymous?
4. Is it important to your group to attract newcomers?
5. What does your local intergroup, Online Intergroup of Alcoholics Anonymous (OIAA), GSO, A.A. World Services, Inc., and the Area Delegates need to know about online groups in order to better serve the groups?
