Update for Policy-and-admissions – Oct 2025

Policy & Admissions Committee (PAC) Report October 2025

What We Do:
The Policy & Admissions Committee (PAC) assists new groups in registering and listing their A.A. meetings on the OIAA meeting directory. Our responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing new meeting submission forms for completeness and compliance with meeting directory listing guidelines.
  • Ensuring that new meetings/groups retain a Traditions statement.
  • Assisting new member groups in listing their Intergroup representatives at the time of registration.
  • Helping meetings/groups regain their status for relisting in the OIAA meeting directory or as Intergroup representatives if they have lapsed.
  • Addressing complaints and answering questions regarding meetings/groups listed in the OIAA meeting directory.
  • Providing policy and guideline advisories to any interested parties.

What we did: Committee actions from October 1 to October 31, 2025:

  • New meeting submission forms reviewed: 69
  • New meeting submission forms processed to listed completion: 37
  • Meetings listed with an IGR: 13 (35% of October completed listings)
  • Outstanding – waiting for reply:  37
  • Declined listings: 1
  • Sent to Steppers: 0
  • Sent to PIC: 0
  • Requested removal: 2
  • Decided Not to List: 0
  • Duplicates/Not a Listing/An Update/Hold/Spam/Already Listed: 11
  • Complaints/Concerns: 1
  • OIAA policy/guideline advisory: 0

October was a very busy month with 34% of the groups listed deciding to have IGRs. Processing a new group request to completion is often a time-consuming process, requiring many back and forth emails in order to obtain all of the necessary information. Our committee members are doing a remarkable job of replying to all group requests very quickly. They answer a variety of questions and assist new groups in understanding the listing process. Many groups do not understand that the OIAA Meeting Directory is not associated with the Meeting Guide App. We explain that we are an Intergroup and that all our listings are processed by our PAC Committee. We explain that we are not part of the General Service Office or any other Intergroup. We also explain that we are Alcoholics Anonymous and are recognized as an A.A. Intergroup by the General Service Board.

Unfortunately the two bi-lingual committee members who joined our committee last month had to drop out due to time constraints. We are delighted however, that another bi-lingual (Spanish-English) individual has joined out committee. As soon as she is trained, she will be able to help reply to our Spanish speaking inquiries. In the meantime we were successful corresponding with and listing Spanish, French and Farsi speaking groups with the help of AI.

We welcome new members. Anyone wishing to serve on our committee may contact us at pac.chair@aa-intergroup.org.

Respectfully submitted,

Beth D. OIAA PAC Chair
