As usual, we had a lot of great comments from our callers:

Thank you for your email. I’ve gotten responses from a couple other volunteers and I have to say, it is such a great thing. I feel the support of a group who cares about a complete stranger, me, and want to help. Thank you for your response. It is valuable and has had an impact. Now it’s up to me to take that next step

– Thank you for responding to my email. I am just over two and a half years since my last drink or any other addictive substance (other than caffeine in my morning coffee). I live in a rural area and I’m some miles from my nearest AA meetings that I feel comfortable attending and I do attend as often as I can. I am much interested in the link you provided to communicate via email as that feels more suitable for me to use on a more frequent basis. So thank you for your response it has been most helpful and IS appreciated very much.- Thank you so much for your thoughtful AND honest reply-about honesty! I have usually tried to be truthful and honest (except about alcohol) in my daily life so your answer resonated with me. To be able to face myself in the mirror each day and maintain self respect the truth is usually best. Facing my alcoholism has been hard-I liked my wine! Yet I felt a fraud. So here I am 3 weeks in and already starting over. 2 starting dates already. But continue to attend meetings and looking for a sponser-I went to another state in the middle of my 1st start. Seeking a sponsor in new place -will find one. Sorry I went on so long. Thank you again for your answer.

-Thank you.I feel blessed with your writes up.Unfortunately in my country, there is nothing like AA and the government doesn’t care about this addiction. It’s only through external online organization like this that I can get help

-Hello, thank you very much for the words of hope, I really needed to hear that today. I believe that even though I may have burned my life down there is hope for new life to grow from the ashes. It doesn’t take the pain I feel right now away but eventually I’ll be happy and free. I’m going to attend meetings. Have a great week.

If you see or get these kind of responses, please send them to alt-steppers.chair@aa-intergroup.org       and mention in the subject line that it’s a good response to call our attention to it.
