Hello fellow OIAA members –

This is a report of inquiries and replies for the Steppers Committee for August 2025. Requests this month were up dramatically this month to 445 vs. 335 same month last year. With the addition of a couple of new members to the Steppers team, we were able to respond to the increase in volume and still maintain a strong 3.99 responses per inquiry.  It looks like we heard from more than 35+ countries.

As usual, we had some great (and grateful) responses from our “callers”. (When you see these responses, please call our attention  to them so we can post them.

– You are so nice thanks so much.Really wanted to go in person but I don’t drive and I’m not seeing anything close to me.Closest was 25$ ride one way so I’ll be doing the phone

-Again you sound like me in some of that email.I need to get it together

– Thank you for sharing your story, I can relate to almost everything you said. I took my drinking way to far, I worked on an ambulance for 10 years and drinking was my excuse for dealing with all the bad things I have seen. In the process of destroying myself with end stage liver disease, cirrhosis, and esophageal varicose I am in big medical trouble, I have had 8 blood transfusions, platelet transfusions and 1 plasma transfusion, I am on my way out, but I want to do it sober.

– Thank you, I’ve contacted Northfield methodist church – they have meetings every Tuesday

-I will make sure that ,I make use of the contacts that you have provided me with.Im very worried about my Br  the information will guide me in terms of approaching him.

– Thank you for answering.My drinking is a problem….. I am causing problems for my self and other ppl around me.

-Thank you so much. I will check everything out and thanks for all the wise words. I know I can and will overcome this with the support of this site and AA. I worked in mental health and addictions long enough to know it works as a recovering drug addict and was well respected by my clients because of it. Thank you again.
