Cooperation with the Professional Community (CPC)
Second Quarter Committee Report
Combined Committee and Board Meeting July 20, 2024
Second quarter of 2024 OIAA’s CPC committee worked on the following:
Outreach:
- Provided via email referrals to other 12 Step programs
- Accommodated a visitor to the monthly committee meeting to discussion approaches for online meetings in Correction facilities and followed up with outreach to several corrections resources, including the Corrections Desk at the NY GSO, which were passed on as a point of follow-up.
- Responded to a request for a college classroom presentation from a nursing instructor in Connecticut. This became a collaborative effort with the CPC Committee Chair based in Connecticut and will cover 2 dates with in-person presentations. This will impact as many as 60 nursing students.
- Outreach to individuals expressing interest in volunteering with CPC in both English and Portuguese
Committee Admin and Planning:
- Issues regarding committee governance are being reviewed as time permits and the draft of the Committee Charter is continues to progress.
- Secured approval for $200 financial support to cover translations for future committee meetings in service to OIAA’s global community
- Developed template for committee communication which includes links to key pieces of CPC literature available at aa.org and a link for the recipient to subscribe to the About AA newsletter mailing list About A.A. This newsletter comes from the General Service Office in New York for professionals who work with alcoholics, including professionals in the fields of healthcare, law, corrections and clergy. - Plans for participation in OAA’s Service Expo
Issues and Opportunities:
- Tech support/training requested regarding committee email distribution, file path clarification for CPC Cloud storage and changes in workspace from original view to current view in Google workspace.
