Update For Cooperation-with-the-professional-community – Oct 2024

Cooperation with the Professional Community (CPC)

Third Quarter (July, August, September) Committee Report

Combined Board and Committee Chairs Meeting October 19, 2024

Third quarter of 2024 OIAA’s CPC committee worked on the following:

Service and Meetings within OIAA:

  • The CPC Booth at OIAA’s first Service Assembly was staffed by 2 CPC Committee members
  • CPC Chair and Alt Chair facilitated three CPC Committee meetings (4th Monday of most months) open to all.
  • Visiting IGR’s to these meetings included the International Serenity Group and Journey of the Heart. Thank you for joining us.
  • Communication with OIAA member group AAFORUS regarding Corrections
  • Email replies to a number of individuals interested in serving on the CPC committee were invited to join the monthly meetings.
  • CPC Chair attended Finance committee meetings in July and August

Outreach:

  • Responded to a request sent to PI from a Court Clerk requesting a flyer with a link to OIAA’s online meetings.
    • Template available from AA.org was customized and returned to clerk for printing and posting
    • QR code to OIAA website was produced by the Tech Committee for insertion in future iterations
  • Flyer will be shared on screen at the Oct. 19th meeting
  • To provide consistency in our outward facing communication links to CPC docs on aa.org are now included following the signature line. It is our hope that these seeds of information may one day bloom into a relationship as a Friend of AA.

Committee Admin and Planning:

  • Committee Charter discussions have included incorporating language more commonly used in the fields in which we serve and a commitment to cooperate being careful not to give the appearance of affiliation.
  • Committee is committed to simplifying the meeting admin and when possible operates these meetings with a standard basic agenda with placeholders for old and new items of business.
  • Decisions made to date have primarily emerged using the consensus model which includes discussion, active listening, participation by all and tapping into spiritual guidance.
  • Studying the materials found in the CPC Workbook is suggested as committee activity. We hope to try to cover the material by including this on the monthly meeting agenda.
  • We want to know how to best serve OIAA’s member groups. One idea being considered is to approve a presentation script and conduct training for new presenters.
  • Member groups are invited to submit to either Gwen or Sharon ideas for organizations or contacts interested in hearing a CPC Presentation

Issues and Opportunities:

  • Tech support/training requested regarding file path clarification for CPC Cloud storage
  • Request tech support to update monthly meeting time from 6:30 to 7:00 PM Eastern time
  • Opportunity to create a database of participating groups in response to a request received from the CPC Chair of one of OIAA’s member groups looking to share experiences with other members groups doing CPC service.

Please join us! The CPC Committee usually meets monthly on the 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 PM Eastern Time. We meet on the Zoom platform.  Zoom ID: 837 4412 9366 Passcode:  CPC
