Intergroup Representative (IGR) Responsibilities
OIAA is a member-driven non-profit organization, so members make the core decisions while the Board makes all other policy decisions to maintain operations. Members vote quarterly at a general assembly. Members include Intergroup Representatives (IGRs) or Alternate Intergroup Representatives (Alt-IGRs), committee chairs, and board members. Issues and proposed motions are posted by the board one month in advance to allow IGRs and other stakeholders to become informed about the issues. Members vote on certain policies including election of directors and trustees, budget approval, adoption and amendment of bylaws and guidelines, approval of new standing board committees, dissolution of both the board and standing committees, and dissolution of the organization. IGRs may also participate in OIAA Service Committees and/or encourage other members of their group to participate in OIAA Committees. See more details about these responsibilities in the OIAA Guidelines, Sections 1.2.1 — Member Voting Rights and Responsibilities and 1.3 — Intergroup Representatives (IGRs).
